Join Adela at her mosaic studio in the courtyard of the old rectory and learn the relaxing art of mosaic. The studio is situated in Holsworthy, North Devon, just a few miles from the North Cornish coast. 

All materials, tools, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided on the day, it will not be possible to grout your pieces during the workshop but you will be given a demonstration and grout to take home.

With a maximum class size of six you are sure to have plenty of help and advice and I provide plenty of hot drinks, biscuits and chat to help you enjoy your time.

In this 6 hour workshop I will introduce you to various mosaic terms, materials, techniques and teach you several ways of laying your glass tiles to achieve various 'opus' as we work through a worksheet together. We will then move on to cutting techniques. Finally choose a design to copy or come up with your own, there are plenty of mosaics on display for inspiration.  in the studio! then get to work laying your tiles onto a board (up to 20cm) in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of chatting and tea or coffee. 

One Day Beginners Workshop

Mosaic Jewellery Workshop
 

In this 2 hour workshop you will be taught 2 methods of making mosaic jewellery using pendant trays and many, many materials including copper wire, glass & ceramic, beads and millefiori. 
I will guide you through the techniques and explain which adhesives are suited to which materials and then let you play. You will make up to 2 pieces, a large pendant and a medium pendant, or a large pendant and a pair of earrings. If you would like to make more, you may purchase materials for £7.50 for each additional pendant.

Recycled China Workshop
 


In this 3 hour workshop  you will learn to make mosaics from a huge selection of abandoned china and dinnerware. I will introduce you to several contemporary artists and you will learn   where the term 'picassiette' comes from. You will learn to use different types of tools and which adhesives are most appropriate. 

You can choose from a variety of shapes to make your mosaic on and depending on how fast and detailed you work you could make more than one mosaic, if you would like to make more than 3 you can buy additional shapes for £1.50.
